Vertical Bench Centre

Luthra Vertical bench centre is ideal, accurate and quick method for inspecting radial run out of camshafts, crankshafts, cylindrical shafts. Gear teeth run out can also be inspected by using mandrel ,arbour or directly to the centre . Luthra Vertical Bench centre is ideally suited in machine shops , tool rooms and standard rooms for checking various other parameters like concentricity and true rotation of components in vertical position.

Some of the silent features of Vertical bench Centre are:

  • Base of bench centre is made of close grained castings and finished to high degree of accuracy by hand scrapping.
  • The base of bench centre , column and its head are artificially stress relieved as precaution against distortion.
  • One of the centre is spring loaded to ensure uniform pressure while holding work piece and unloading without disturbing the accuracy of centres.
  • Centres are made from high carbon steel hardened and ground finish having morse taper (MT-3) and are replaceable.
  • One head is adjustable to the required positions for easy and quick setting of the required distance between the centres and other centre is fix mounted on base.
  • The heavy duty dove tailed column is provided with rack and pinion arrangement along with counter weight for smooth movement of spring loaded head.

The apparatus supports up to two specimens at once, each up to 250 mm in length and 100 mm in diameter, ensuring flexibility for diverse testing needs. Recommended for use by manufacturers, exporters, distributors, and suppliers in India.

FAQs of Vertical Bench Centers:

Q: How does a Vertical Bench Center operate without an external power supply?

A: Vertical Bench Centers are manually operated using a mechanical control mode. This eliminates reliance on electrical power, making them suitable for any work environment and ensuring instantaneous response without electronic delay.

Q: What types of measurements can be performed using this equipment?

A: This bench center allows precise measurement of workpiece alignment, concentricity, and roundness. Its high accuracy and resolution make it ideal for metrology labs and quality assurance processes that require meticulous inspection.

Q: When should I use a Vertical Bench Center during my production or inspection process?

A: These centers are best utilized during the inspection stageeither in final quality control before shipment or during in-process checksto verify the alignment and roundness of machined components, preventing costly defects.

Q: Where are Vertical Bench Centers most commonly installed?

A: They are typically mounted on a stable bench or tabletop within metrology laboratories, QA/QC departments, or industrial settings where component precision is critical. Their manual, non-powered nature supports use in a variety of locations.

Q: What is the recommended process for using and setting up specimens in the bench center?

A: Specimens are easily mounted by adjusting the centers to accommodate pieces up to 250 mm in length and 100 mm in diameter. The operator then manually rotates and inspects the specimen using a dial indicator or digital display to obtain precise measurements.

Q: What are the key benefits of choosing this equipment for measurement tasks?

A: Notable benefits include high precision (0.01 mm), manual versatility, robust construction, ease of specimen mounting, and adaptability to a wide range of specimen sizesall contributing to reliable quality control and efficient inspection workflows.
